My heart's desire

I am reading through America's fastest growing churches again rapidly. I noticed that Falwell page 28 had a My Heart's Desire campaign during the month of December. He had every person in the church write the name of one person for whom he would pray and work to get saved.

I think we could do this in our church during the month of December. It could be that My Heart's Desire is to see ---saved for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ.

We will use Romans 10 as the verse and state that My hearts desire for --- is that they might be saved.

The secret to the growth of Falwell's church was saturation evangelism page 31

that means preaching the gospel to every available person at every available time by every available means.

Falwell's evangelistic program 1. Contact 2. Continuous contact 3. consciousness of no limitations

Falwell's reason for using Saturation Evangelism

1. the population explosion demands it
2. the imminent return of Jesus Christ commands that we reach every man with the gospel soon
3. people are dying every day

the regular way of evangelizing is simply not going to work.

He used the telephone

we need to set up the phone tree to say something like he did--Hello we are calling from Vision Baptist Church. My pastor, Austin Gardner, asked me to call and invite you to our services for a message based on verse by verse Bible study that has real applications to your life. Come learn what the Bible says that applies to your everyday life.

Sunday School bus evangelism

start making the cds available to shut ins, nursing homes, etc

get our messages on the internet as soon as possible

put up video excerpts from our messages on youtube

start a monthly newspaper that can be sent to everyone that visits our church in whatever state they are in

use promotions in our Sunday School and other ministries to get people to church

Plan a camp for next year

start a ministry to reach the deaf

start a ministry to reach people that deal with addictions

get started in prisons and jails

those are the ideas I just gleaned from a study of the chapter about Jerry Falwell
